Security

Protecting your team's data

Your employees trust you with their personal information, and you trust us. Here's how August keeps that information safe.

U.S. cloud hosting

August runs on Amazon Web Services infrastructure in the United States.

Encryption

All traffic is encrypted with HTTPS. Social Security numbers and other sensitive values are encrypted at rest with AWS Key Management Service.

Role-based access

Grant admin access by module and use timesheet-only logins for shared time clocks.

Private file storage

Employee photos are stored privately and shown only through short-lived, signed links.

Change history

Punch edits are attributed to the admin who made them, and applicant status changes are tracked.

Bot protection

Public forms like job applications are protected with reCAPTCHA.

Texting compliance

Support for carrier A2P 10DLC registration, STOP and HELP handling, and organization-specific SMS terms and privacy pages.

Secure mobile sign-in

August Mobile uses one-time passcodes for sign in, and employees use a PIN at the time clock.

Clear policies

Read our privacy policy and terms of service.
